1. Source Purity 100% Guaranteed Vegetable Glucosamine
Ethical Naturals, Inc. is well known in the industry for manufacturing the highest-grade supplement products. HPLC and other conventional methods of analysis cannot differentiate between shellfish and vegetable based glucosamine. To meet our commitments to our customers, we knew we needed to guarantee the vegetable source material of our GreenGrown® - Vegetable Glucosamine through objective testing. Today, this is even more so, as glucosamine from shellfish and vegetable sources are often produced in the same facilities.
To meet this objective, ENI’s QC Director, Lora Xiong, developed and patented the Isotopic Signature Carbon Tracing (ISCT) method to differentiate between vegetable and shellfish derived materials. This test guarantees the pure vegetable source of our material. (U.S. Patent No. 8076516 B1).
2. ENI licenses 20 patents in 12 countries that cover the process of producing glucosamine by fermentation
Since June 2015, ENI has been the exclusive licensee of patents that cover the process of producing glucosamine from glucose by microbial fermentation. Besides the U.S., this manufacturing technology has received patents in the following countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, and Netherlands & Mexico.

By its nature, shellfish glucosamine cannot be Kosher certified, but GreenGrown® is kosher certified.

Like all ENI products, GreenGrown® glucosamine is tested, distributed and encapsulated through our facility that is certified to FDA 21 CFR-111, and FSMA compliant by NSF.
Pharmacology of Glucosamine
Glucosamine has been investigated for its ability to modify underlying cartilaginous degeneration in joints, and therefore to potentially provide relief in osteoarthritis. [3-4]. Studies also demonstrate that glucosamine stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycan, proteoglycan, and hyaluronic acid. Thus, glucosamine has shown chondroprotective activity to both slow the progression of, and even correct some structural abnormalities associated with osteoarthritis .
